The Ahe Highway runs from Altay City to Hemu, covering approximately 200 km. It crosses several mountain ridges, connecting river valleys, birch forests, and high-altitude meadows. The Fish Observation Platform sits atop the Halaqate Mountain on the west shore of Lake Kanas, at an elevation of about 2,000 meters. Reaching it requires climbing over 1,000 steps along a wooden boardwalk. As you ascend, watch the lake widen from a narrow stretch.
